Fab Union Space, a non-profit arts and community center designed by Philip F. Yuan and Archi-Union Architects, located in the West Bund area in Shanghai.

The design, influenced by the 3,000-year-old art of Chinese garden architecture, filters light in diverse ways, underscores indoor-to-outdoor transitions and creates a sense of shifting perspectives and perceptions of scale in a relatively compact 368 sq m building.”

The T4 mural on the crumbling walls of destroyed houses in Shanghai, China, painted by Chinese street artist DAL as a tribute to forgotten and powerless inhabitants, many of whom are mostly fighting in vain to keep their homes.

Chinese multidisciplinary architecture and design studio NHDRO transformed this disused Japanese army headquarters in Shanghai into a hotel, maintaining the building’s stripped concrete and brick walls while adding a new Corten steel extension on the roof.
